In The Flowers: Giant Interactive Flowers for Burning Man 2024
Our collective intent: to create a space of shared joy and wonder that invites collaborative and emergent expression. Movement inside the flower activates visual patterns on the petals. Collaborative movements unlock new patterns, inviting further exploration, expression, and connection with each other.
As dawn approaches, the flower glows softly in sync with the heartbeat of people inside, inviting awareness of our embodiment together in this moment.
In the Flowers invites us to play. Accessible actions power emergent visuals and collaborative bee-haviors.
Follow our Journey from Concept to Playa.

An Encounter
From a distance, larger-than-life gossamer flowers beckon us to explore their diaphanous, poppy-like forms. An encounter with the flowers rewards us with an invitation to bounce, dance, and move to make the petals glow with interactive lights and projection-mapped visuals.
-
An Invitation
At night, the petals envelop us inside an ephemeral collective canvas as our movements activate projection-mapped visuals, a record of joy.
